Streynsham’s Trust Grants
The Streynsham’s Trust Grants are awarded to individual residents of the St Dunstan’s Parish, and also to organisations whose work benefits those living in the Parish. The Trust awards around 180 grants a year, generally ranging between £50 to £1000, and, other than an eligible address and financial need, there are very few restrictions on the nature of requests able to be considered.
To give a general idea, below are examples of grants awarded:
- Costs associated with further and higher education courses (*note eligible address information)
- Costs associated with school work or activities eg. uniform, trips, computer equipment
- Housing related costs eg. carpets, furniture, white goods
- Living related costs eg. unexpected or difficult to pay bills, computer equipment, food
- Provision of Council run Lifeline Scheme
- All local school enrichment project grants
- Charity projects including Catching Lives Day & Night Shelter and the Umbrella Centre
Important Eligible Address Information
Streynsham’s Trust constitution restricts us to helping St Dunstan’s residents only. Check your address on our postcode checker / list of roads.
In exceptional cases, there is limited provision to award grants to those living just outside the Parish boundaries – ie within a short walking distance. The Parish boundaries are here.
If your address falls just outside the boundaries, please contact the Clerk via our Enquiries Form before submitting an application.
Students Address Eligibility (University Awards)
Only students whose family home address is in the St Dunstan’s Parish are eligible – regardless of where they are studying. Grants are not eligible to individuals living in student accommodation within St Dunstan’s and are only here for studying a course.
Information For Charities
All charitable organisations, whose work benefits St Dunstan’s residents may apply for a grant. While services may benefit those from a wider area, only that work which specifically also includes helping St Dunstan’s residents (in part or in whole) is eligible. Charities must be able to demonstrate the work benefits St Dunstan’s residents – please check parish ‘postcodes / list of roads’ and ‘parish boundaries’.
